Today's Update

It's been awhile since we updated this page. As many of you know Tom was arrested and quickly released. It doesn't appear that he is going to be charged. We have been trying to find out for sure what his legal status is. Information has been hard to come-by without a lawyer. We have not retained one because if he is not going to be charged we want to be able to refund all donations. We are going to wait until April 15 to see if he is charged. If he is not charged by that date we will begin the process of refunding all donations. Thank you for your support and for your patience while we muddle through this process.

Tom's Story

Tom is jovial and loud though he has been diagnosed with a medical condition and needs daily medication to keep his condition under control. He loves to tell stories and was doing so when he was accosted by the person in the video. As you can tell from the video Tom is a reasonable person and he moved to the front of the bus to avoid a confrontation. Had the other person been as reasonable, that would have been the end of it and there would have been no altercation.

As it happened the unidentified male and his entourage followed Tom out onto the street and continued to verbally assault him. Police arrived on the scene and Tom was arrested. Media reports are already trying to shift blame away from the black male and his supporters and onto Tom, generally the legal system follows the media's cues. We are concerned that Tom will not be treated fairly by the courts and have established The Thomas Bruso Legal Fund to ensure that he has the best legal council possible and is not made a victim a second-time by a system intent on proving it is "not racist."

We will use this blog to keep you up-to-date as regards Tom's legal case.
